100 New Strawberries
The Inconvenience Store - November 15, 2024
In 2019 Alberto Cuadros inaugurated his 1000 Strawberries project referencing the iconic strawberry signs found along the coastal highways of California. The strawberries are a mediation on color, composition, and gesture and function as a metaphor for Cuadros’ socially engaged art practice.
100 New Strawberries displays the artist’s proliferation as Cuadros continues to paint his way through art historical references and regional iconography. Now the project expands to include a fresh crop of 100 new canvases from the artist’s 1000 Strawberries project, of which the artist has completed over 700 unique works.
